Where and when does Bei Loon train?
Our training is on beautiful Pittwater, located in the Northern Beaches region of Sydney NSW, Australia. Find out about our training sessons here.
Am I expected to attend all training sessions?
In general there is no pressure or expectation that you attend any or all of the training sessions. Naturally your fitness level (and overall happiness) will be improved the more you come along.
If you have registered, and been selected for specific regattas, then as part of that commitment to the others in the team you should attended as many sessions as you are able in the lead-up to that event.
Do I need to join before I can Paddle?
No. Come and try before making a membership commitment.
Is training cancelled due to bad weather?
Our primary concern is safety. Training will be cancelled if there is lightening or unsafe wind/wave conditions. We use an app (TeamApp) for training RSVP and to communicate cancellations.
Rain is not a reason to cancel training.
Do I need to pay to use the ERGs (exercise machines) or OC1 canoes?
No, these items are provided FREE for the benefit of our members. You can make a booking here.
How can I improve my performance?
As well as a healthy lifestyle and diet, here are a few ideas that can help any of us reach peak perfromance:
- Regularly attended as many of the training sessions as you can.
- Improve your technique by listening to our coaches advice, on and off the boat. Find some instructional video resources here.

- Make sure you follow all medical and/or professional advice regarding any injury you may have. There are no prizes for soldiering on through the pain, you will just unnecessary extended the recovery process. Let our coaches know of any condition affecting you, so they can suitably seat you on the boat if you are able to paddle during some or all of your recovery period.
